Online Donation Terms and Conditions

Acceptance of Terms

These terms and conditions govern all donations made through the Hamilton Boys' High School Foundation Trust website at www.hbhsfoundation.co.nz ("the website"). By completing a donation, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions.

These terms are effective from 1 July 2026. We reserve the right to update these terms by posting a revised version on our website.

About Our Organisation

The Hamilton Boys' High School Foundation Trust ("the Trust", "we", "us") is a registered charitable trust that exists to support the educational and developmental goals of Hamilton Boys' High School and its students. The Trust is registered as a charity under the Charities Act 2005 and operates for charitable purposes.

All donations received are used to support Hamilton Boys' High School and its students in accordance with the Trust's charitable purposes.

Making a Donation

Donations made through our website are voluntary. By completing a donation you confirm:

• You are 18 years of age or over, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

• If donating on behalf of a company or organisation, you are authorised to do so.

• The details you have provided are accurate and complete.

Use of Donations

All donations are used to support the educational and developmental goals of Hamilton Boys' High School in accordance with the Trust's charitable purposes. We are committed to ensuring donations are used responsibly and in the best interests of students.

Donations may be directed towards a specific fund or project if specified at the time of donation, subject to the availability of that fund or project. Where a specific fund is not available, we will use the donation for the Trust's general charitable purposes or contact you to discuss alternatives.

Tax Receipts

The Hamilton Boys' High School Foundation Trust is a donee organisation approved by Inland Revenue. Donations of $5 or more may be eligible for a tax credit under the Income Tax Act 2007.

A receipt will be emailed to the address you provide at the time of donation, which you may use to claim a tax credit with Inland Revenue. You are responsible for ensuring your contact details are correct. If you do not receive a receipt, please contact us at cburkitt@hbhs.school.nz .

Donation Currency

All donation amounts are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Payment

Payments are processed securely via Stripe and PayPal. By donating, you agree to the applicable terms and conditions of your chosen payment provider. Stripe's terms can be found at https://stripe.com/nz/legal and PayPal's terms can be found at https://www.paypal.com/nz/legalhub/home.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express via Stripe, and payment from your PayPal account if you have one.

Refund Policy

If you believe a donation was made in error or you have been incorrectly charged, please contact us as soon as possible at cburkitt@hbhs.school.nz .

We will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are at the discretion of the Trust's trustees and are generally only provided where a duplicate payment or processing error has occurred. We do not provide refunds for change-of-mind donations.

Privacy Policy

We collect personal information (such as your name and email address) solely for the purpose of processing your donation, issuing receipts, and administering the Trust's charitable activities. We will not share your information with third parties except as required by law or to process your payment through Stripe or PayPal.

Unless you opt in to receive communications from us, we will only contact you in relation to your donation. You may opt out of any non-transactional communications at any time by contacting us at cburkitt@hbhs.school.nz or following the unsubscribe instructions in any email we send.

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting cburkitt@hbhs.school.nz .

We may use cookies to support the functionality of our website. If you choose not to enable cookies, some features of the website may not be available.

Security

All payment information is processed by Stripe or PayPal and is subject to their respective security standards. We do not store your credit card details. While we take reasonable steps to protect the security of our website, we cannot guarantee its security and are not responsible for breaches beyond our control.

Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, the Hamilton Boys' High School Foundation Trust excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the website or the processing of your donation, except where we have acted in bad faith.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable New Zealand law.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
